Bolt Spider FAQ
1. What type of guardrail does the Bolt Spider work on?
Bolt Spider is designed for use on standard AASHTO 12.5β and 25β 10 or 12 gauge steel W-Beam Guardrail that is relatively free of damage around the splices. Bolt Spider will even work with several splice bolts missing.
2. Will Bolt Spider damage or bend the rail?
Bolt Spider may temporarily bend rail flanges while engaged, but no permanent deformation should result.
3. How heavy is Bolt Spider & what is it made of?
Bolt Spider is made of steel and weighs around 52 lb. Crews routinely handle 55+ lb items such as I-Beam posts and should have no problem using Bolt Spider.
4. Does Bolt Spider require additional tooling to operate?
Bolt Spider works best with an air or battery powered impact wrench with a 32mm or 1ΒΌβ socket. These are the same tools used for typical guardrail maintenance.
